How modern workwear would improve Game of Thrones

Nothing beats a night on the sofa with a fresh season of Game of Thrones – but with all the characters and plot twists, epic battle scenes and misadventures, it's sometimes hard to keep up. With this in mind, we've thought up a few ways in which HBO's finest show could be enhanced by a new wardrobe.

1. Hi-vis workwear: to keep up with the complicated plot
Is Stannis really dead? Where on Earth is Gendry? How can we spy Jon Snow in battle? All of these questions would be answered in a flash, if hi vis uniforms were brought into the mix. Just as a sturdy jacket, or lightweight trousers can keep us secure in the workplace, a cast wrapped in yellow polyester would allow us to be secure in the knowledge of what is actually going on.

2. Food industry workwear: to add a professional edge to major events
From the Red Wedding to Daenerys and Khal Drogo's Wedding Feast, mealtimes are of huge significance throughout Game of Thrones, as tables bowing under plates of hearty food urge armies to solidify, friends to stay, and lovers to unite. But if you want to serve up food in a way that will truly impress, make sure that you bring in food industry clothing that will show you mean business.

3. Flame retardant workwear: providing extra protection
With the likelihood of being burnt at the stake by the Red Woman very high, and the presence of dragons likely to cause some issues in the coming seasons, GOT characters would do well to don themselves in flame retardant-workwear before heading out and into battle.

4. Disposable kit: to keep things clean!
Admit it – a big part of the appeal of Game of Thrones revolves around blood and gore. But if our characters held their battles in disposable workwear, we'd be witness to a far more hygienic affair.

OK, so our ideas for costume design aren't quite as sexy as the original, but, if the producers listen, we're predicting a clearer and safer season 7!
